You know when you have a plan, big ideas and a certain way that you think things should go but it all goes wrong? Yep, me too, and I thought I would be writing this blog post a few weeks from now. Wrong, and heaps of grace. Welcome to the new KMP Showit 5 website!

Due to a slight miscommunication on my part (seriously, 100% my fault), during the migration of my blog from my old host/server to Showit‘s server, a few dots didn’t connect, and when they finally did, the entire thing went live weeks before I had expected it to. I’ve been trying to keep quiet about the new site/blog for a few days now because it’s far from perfect. My goodness – how many times have I (a-hem…have we all) kept something from being seen, not moved forward with a big idea or dream because it’s not perfect? I’ve been frantically fixing links, images, text, menus and more in the hopes that none of you will see it until it’s just right. Well, guess what? You saw it. You emailed and texted me. You congratulated me on the beautiful new site and color palette and it made me realize that striving for perfection (yet again) was doing far more harm than the good I thought it would do.

Grace not Perfection

You see, this site is like me: a work in progress. It has such potential, it’s beautiful, colorful and meaningful. It reflects the philosophy of KMP and shares my heart for the Lord. It’s imperfect. It’s messy in some areas and perfectly put together in others. I love this little site something fierce. It’s the culmination of hours of hard work, too many cups of coffee and the feeling of creative freedom.

If you have a moment, please take a peek around the site! I’m really excited to have added a graphic element to the KMP branding family. I’ve had nothing of the sort thus far and change is good. I’ve also expanded the color palette! It turns out that there are other colors I love that aren’t just mint and gold. It feels so romantic now. See below!

Brand Elements

There are so many things I love about it, but I’m especially excited about the Mentoring, Speaking & Education page.

One of my goals this year was to jump into the world of speaking and it’s been very exciting! I recently hosted a Summer Goal Setting morning (hey, Goal Setters!) at my studio and it was the BEST. I’m also thrilled to be a part of the Creative at Heart Conference in Denver next month as a panelist. I may also have something exciting happening in November…praying hard over that one and I would appreciate your prayer on that as well. Don’t worry, I’ll share more when the time is right.

I’ll share more about my reasons for switching to Showit 5 soon, but for now, I have 3 Littles and 1 sister with me who would like to go to the park. In closing, sooooooo many thanks to Christian with Showit. He’s a Showit Support Stud and he handled my issues with patience and knowledge. Also to sweet Emily with Seaside Creative, who designed the most beautiful site and then let me tweak it to make it fit KMP just right. You are a gem and I’m ever grateful to you!
