We’re back from an amazing trip to WPPI In Las Vegas!
This was Scott’s first year attending (my second), and it was an absolute blast. Last year, I fought 16,000 photographers through the MGM Grand conference center all by my little self for four days. I can’t describe how fantastic it was to have my hubby there to hold my hand, to laugh with, to learn with, and to love on.
We’ve coming home from Vegas with an entirely new lighting kit, re-structured pricing, another album option for our rad clients, and a whole lot of awesome hiding in our bag. We swore that we were going to drag our cameras everywhere and document every second of our trip….needless to say, those beasts get heavy after a few hours and we happily left them locked up so that we could concentrate on learning from the best and making the most of our time together. We have pages upon pages of notes and minds FULL of useful and exciting information. Our favorite classes were those taught by Elizabeth Messina, Jose Villa and Scott Robert Lim.
I left WPPI with 28 free rolls of film. 28. It was last year at this conference that I decided I was going to start experimenting with film, and the results have blown my mind, again and again. After spending MUCH time with Richard Photo Lab (the guys that do my developing) during the trade show, discussing color packs/profiles, business structures, scanners and film, I’m thrilled to say that film is now an official part of Max And Poppy. I can’t wait to cater to, and be a part of the small niche that is film photography.
