Let Them Eat Cupcakes…

Let’s be really honest. I had the most beautiful blog post written about our business’s third birthday. I took my time writing it, waxing poetic about the people who have come into our lives, showed us love, helped us grow, blah blah blah. Then, I had the most lovely idea for a baked-from-scracth cupcake photoshoot, complete with hand piped initials and yellow sprinkles. I would wear my most favorite shirt, and my red lipstick…yes….this blog post would be one for the ages.

Then I overcooked the cupcakes. The frosting melted. I can’t pipe initials to save my life and my hair was flat. My 13 year old sister ended up shooting us {I encourage everyone to think a decision like that through before it’s too late}. Needless to say, I was in a “mood”. You know, OH, you know. One of THOSE moods. Scott knew that we couldn’t fake it for our shoot. He had no choice. He had to take matter into his own hands. We had one happy {ahem, fake} shot before the madness happened…

{Sisters says, “Hold on”. I think, “This sucks”. Scott thinks, “Cupcake war?”}

This was exactly what we needed on this monumental day. Thanks to everyone who loves and supports us…we can’t wait for year number four!

    Wow, I LOVE these photos but I love the story behind it even more. It reminds me of that saying, “If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans!”, in other words, we can try and organize things and try to make things go our way, but we never really know what’s going to happen, how it’s going to happen, or that when things don’t go the way we anticipated, it might end up being for the better. The day may not unfold the way we had wished, but God has a plan for us that is far more amazing than what we could ever dream! <3
