Earlier today, I was organizing/packing everything for tomorrow’s wedding in Cherry Valley, and I posted this quick photo on Instagram (you can follow me @katiemcgihon). Since posting that image on twitter, facebook and Instagram, I’ve had a few emails, comments, and questions about what we shoot with. Please note that today I was only packing for myself. Max is out of town this weekend and I’m shooting with another photographer who will bring all of her own gear. Without further ado, let’s dive in!
(pardon the iPhone photo)
Bodies
2 Canon 5D Mark II’s (one with a battery grip…both with Black Rapid Straps)
Canon 1-v (film body)
Lenses
Canon 50mm 1.2 L (my baby)
Canon 24-70mm 2.8 L (the workhorse)
Canon 100mm 2.8 macro (you know, for the ring shot)
Canon 70-200mm 2.8 IS L (the ceremony rock star)
Lights
Canon 580 EX II
2 slave flashes and triggers (Scott Robert Studio…affordable…amazing)
video light (Scott Robert Studio…affordable….amazing)
Necessities Not Pictured
Extra batteries and chargers (for camera bodies and flashes)
Kodak Portra Film (color) and Ilford Delta 3200 (black and white)
Cheeta Stands (for our reception lighting)
iPad for reception slideshow
128 GB’s of space on CF cards (we use 32 GB and 8 GB cards)
All of this is artfully arranged in a ThinkTank Airport Security V2.0 bag (Hubby uses a similar Lowepro bag). I also bring along all of the things a girl would need during 8 hours on her feet…my JoTote (Betsy in mustard), iPhone, lip gloss, gum, Advil, bandaids. I think that sums it up, and I hope you enjoyed this peek into my bag!
(PS what’s in your bag?)
