We’ve been a bit stressed these past few days. At some point this past Sunday, our blog crashed. Needless to say, I was a mess while I scrambled to figure out what happened and how to fix it. Thankfully, after much prayer, coffee, chocolate, live support chats and bossy phone calls, we had a full restore.

Here’s a quick peek inside our weekend.

(Hes’s SO thrilled about his birthday hat that the kids insisted he wear….can you tell?)

(Ava had to wear her birthday hat, because she wanted to be like Daddy)

(Each year for our birthdays, one of us takes the kids to the dollar store and let’s them buy whatever they want for Mommy/Daddy. This year’s most awesome find? A Spiderman magic towel. Kids dig it.)

I don’t even know what to say about our Buddy losing his first tooth. Since his parents are photographers, his tooth was put under his pillow in a wallet sized image box. (the cute tooth fairy bag I ordered from Etsy didn’t arrive in time) I certainly never thought that I’d be posting images of a tiny tooth-in-hand on our blog,  but here it is! He was so excited. I almost cried when he ran up to me at church in his collared shirt with a gaping hole in his mouth. He look like a big boy. For some sappy reason, this has really made me take a good look at how I am spending my time. Aden will be in kindergarten next year. I have only a few, precious months with him at home until he is in ELEMENTARY school. Just yesterday, he was a little bundle of cuddles, looking up at me with deep blue eyes and blond fuzz on his tiny head.

I’ve decided to slow down with the social media. We’ll still be blogging, FBing, and tweeting, but I want to be really intentional about it. I’m sure I’m not the only one who can get lost in reading other people’s status updates. I don’t need to know what all 1,000 of my friend ate for lunch 🙂  Is anyone else feeling the need to just slow down? To simplify?
