Ava, Film and the Lavender Festival

If you’ve been reading my blog for any length of time, you likely already know about my affinity for the Lavender Festival. We’ve been attending for about 4 years now and trust me when I say it is my happy place. Highland Springs Resort is one of my favorite venues in all of Southern California (we’ve had weddings, engagement sessions, portrait sessions and hosted a workshop there!) and just walking onto the grounds gives me a sense of peace.

We enjoyed lavender honey ice cream, lavender lemonade and champagne (for the grown up ladies) and so much more. I came home with a full heart, a bag full of every lavender product imaginable but the absolute BEST part of this day is always photographing my Ava. She’s soft, ladylike, creative….much like her momma.Lavender-Festival-1

Sometimes, Ava just sort of disappears in our very loud and busy family dynamic. She is very quiet 95% of the time. However, when she trusts you, when she lets you in, you will see the most magical and ethereal creature on the face of the planet. They really do write novels about children like this. I can’t believe I get to call her my daughter.Lavender-Festival-2 Lavender-Festival-3 Lavender-Festival-4 Lavender-Festival-5 Lavender-Festival-6 Lavender-Festival-7 Lavender-Festival-8 Lavender-Festival-9 Lavender-Festival-10 Lavender-Festival-11 Lavender-Festival-12 Lavender-Festival-13

Until next year, my Lavender Festival!
